Kia Ora, This afternoon we have been writing the translation in Te Reo Maori for Christmas sentences. Such as “Lets unwrap the presents – Kia Hura Tatou  I Nga Taonga”.  We had to copy down the sentences off the whiteboard and then after find pictures that relate to the sentence. Then we had to mote it so we can tell you how to properly pronounce the sentence.

This morning we have been learning about persuasive devices such as alliteration ect. I have not completely finished but I am almost finish. I have learnt a lot about alliteration today and it was pretty fun. Here is a link to my document.

Kia Ora, This morning my class worked on using our Na Wai I.  I have been learning how to say who did something in Te Reo Maori. For example “Na wai nga kutai i huaki? – Who shelled the mussels?” 

Na wai I haere ki Otautahi ?  – Who is going to Christchurch?

Na Wai means Who.

This morning we started drawing a landscape of what we saw by the papawhakari. I saw a bunch of bushes and trees with 3 square stools by the swell. Behind it I saw buildings and the sky. In front I saw fake grass and concrete. Here is a photo of my picture that i drew.

This week we started a document on why recycling should be compulsory.  In my opinion I think recycling is very compulsory because I want to have a very clean environment and no more pollution in our waters!  If you do not recycle I highly recommend doing that because it is good for all of our health. This term we have been learning about animals and. And learning about their habitat and how they survive. I have made a slideshow about animal habitats and I wrote that 2 animals live in habitats such as desserts and polar habitats. Kia Ora, At the start of term 3 we did this doc that had wanderings on it. We got to write to our teachers about what we would like to do more this year and what we would like to learn about more. I mostly just put sports and whale stuff because I want to be a Marine Biologist when I am older. I haven’t learned any of the stuff that I wanted to learn but we have gone out for some sports. Kia Ora, This week we have been learning about extinct animals! I have had a lot of fun doing this. We learnt about what extinction is and why they go extinct ect. We all have made a slideshow about extinction. I haven’t finished my slideshow yet but I’m having so much fun doing it. Animals die mainly of habitat loss and starvation. I think that we should stop killing animals because we don’t know what will happen. Here is a link to my slideshow about extinction.

Kia Ora yesterday I started writing about my ancestor Mihi Kotukutuku. Mihi Kotukutuku was the leader of my iwi. I wrote facts about her in a document. Such as her Marae, Iwi, Maunga ect. I actually really enjoyed learning about this and I want to learn more. I learnt that she didn’t go to school! Here is a link to my document.

Kia Ora for the past week we have been doing fitness on the astro turf. The fitness moves we did are Planks, Press ups, Sit ups, Bur pees, Crutches, Jumping jacks. It has made me have more energy in the morning but it was also super tiring. I wasn’t here for the past 2 days so I missed out on some. (Happy about that) My goal is to probably focus on my press ups. I have been doing girls press ups (As they call it) And probably just be focused on myself and my fitness.
